ROCKTOBER RAIN

It's been raining for the last 45 days or something here, I didn't know I'd actually moved to Portland. Oh well, I guess all the water that's melted off the ice caps has to go somewhere, it might as well go into the moat. The Poopmonster and I have been putting important things farther away from the ground in anticipation of the unavoidable levee break and we have discovered a 70,000-year-old forgotten religion to worship which involves lying on your back and screaming for at least 15 minutes a day.

This just in - Snakes Flying a Plane is the fashion hit of the season. Also there are still a number of signed Bogeys posters you can get without paying extra. 'Tis the season to not be dead.

I'm trying to root out broken nav links on Overcompensating so please email jeff@wigu.com if you spot anything spotty. Thanks.

NOT NEARLY NIGH ENOUGH

Man, what's the deal anyway? We spend a billion times more money on bullets than books, and all you care about is looking at naked butts on your iPod. Dick Cheney can't release his new book about health tips because he is always in the hospital. 20,000 dead in a Pakistan earthquake (this is not even news anymore) but more importantly, will Mardi Gras party on? Who will look after the kittens?

Sorry, just woke up on the wrong side of a dirty mattress on a kitchen floor.

AMERICAN GRAFFITI

OK, back to normal life, cheeks a-flexin.' The past couple days have been spent in a thinktank negotiating with a craft-maker, a person skilled in the construction of gewgaws and curios who may be commissioned soon to create some hand-made thingies and oddities based around some ideas that seep from the openings of my head. The future is like a Lamborghini pulling a rusty horse trailer -- it is definitely going somewhere nice.

I have been informed that our old friend Rick Moranis has begun a new career as a country music singer. Certainly this is wonderful news for everyone involved (including you, you are involved now).
